Miami, FL- April 12th 2017 – An established global leader in RDS technology, WorldCast Systems has announced that they will show a groundbreaking demo of new RDS2 technology at NAB 2017. This will be a world-first for RDS2 which has not been previously shown on the international stage.

The new RDS2 standard extends the capabilities and geographical reach of RDS and offers many exciting and enriched new services for a new content-driven generation of audience. 

WorldCast Systems has developed a new RDS encoder that provides support for both existing RDS technology and this new international standard. A prototype of the innovative new unit will be on demo on the WorldCast Systems’ booth alongside an RDS2 data logger and decoder.

Backwards compatible with the existing standard, RDS2 increases the data capacity four-fold which significantly extends the capabilities of the technology, facilitating many added value services and graphical features and also allows deployment to be extended in certain geographic regions such as China and Brazil.   It also permits a long PS name for enhanced station branding.
